About
This pilot explores the practical requirements for ecomodulation incentives to effectively support the scaling of post-consumer cotton use. Funded by the Dutch UPV Stichting, the pilot sets up and tests three different reverse supply chain scenarios using Dutch textile waste. It aims to assess the technical feasibility, economic costs of each process, human capacity needs, and existing trade barriers. The pilot is positioned as a testbed for policy and operational insights needed to align EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) mechanisms with circularity goals in denim production. This pilot will evolved into a scaled pilot which aims to include pakistan and egypt along with other memeber brands. If you are interested to participate, reach out to the Denim Deal.
Update: 2.7.25
The pilot is progressing steadily with the good ready to ship and the fabrics to initiate production during the summer months. We expect the main results to arrive by fall of this year and will be shared with all Denim Deal members.
